 The marked price of a chair and a table are in the ratio 2:3 respectively. The shopkeeper gives 20% discount on the chair. If the combined discount on both the chair and the table is 26%, then what will be the discount given on the table?

Explanation:

Let the price of Chair and Table be Rs.200 and Rs.300 respectively.

Discount on table = 20% of Rs.200 = Rs.40

Let discount on chair be x%

Then, Discount on table = x% of 300 = Rs.3x

Total discount on chair and table together = 26% of 500 = Rs.130

Rs.40+Rs.3x = Rs.130

=> 3x = 90 => x = 30

Hence, Discount given on table = 30%
